HURON TOWNSHIP — A Huron Township teen lost his life Sunday evening when a man now charged with driving under the influence of alcohol collided with the vehicle he was a passenger of.
According to Wistv.com, Huron Township High School junior James "Jimmy" Franklin Williams, 16, was with six other passengers, including his father and mother, headed to Florida to embark on a cruise to the Bahamas when the crash occurred about 7 p.m. Sunday on Interstate 77 in Fairfield County, S.C.

Ricky Lance Deel, 34, of Beaufort, the driver of a 2000 Saturn that struck the Williams' Dodge Durango, has been arrested and charged with felony DUI.
Franklin, a football player described by The News Herald as one of the most popular students at his school, was ejected from the vehicle during the crash.
The teen's father, James Williams, is a former publisher of Heritage Media. He suffered serious head injuries and has undergone surgery, according to the News Herald.
Other passengers who were also injured include Williams' wife, Krista; children Kali and Caden; Luke Sturgill, a junior at Huron High School; and Shannon Henry, a recent Huron High School graduate, The News Herald reports.
