Ex-FBI Agent Convicted In Fatal Car Crash

UPPER MARLBORO, Md. (AP) — A former FBI agent has been convicted in a drunken driving crash in which an 18-year-old man died.

A Prince George’s County jury on Thursday found Adrian Johnson guilty of all charges, including motor vehicle manslaughter and homicide by motor vehicle while intoxicated.

Prosecutors say Johnson faces up to 13 years in prison when he’s sentenced on Dec. 14. He was taken into custody.

Authorities say Johnson was intoxicated and speeding when he crashed his car into another vehicle in Brandywine on Feb. 7, 2011. The crash killed the other vehicle’s driver, Lawrence Garner Jr. The crash also seriously injured Garner’s best friend, Robert Mitchell II.

Johnson’s lawyer, Robert Bonsib, said he was disappointed with the verdict. He argued that the crash was unavoidable and not his client’s fault.
