Fernando "Junior" Flores

February 26, 2005 - May 24, 2020

Fernando “Junior” Flores of Durant was taken from this earth too soon on Sunday, May 24, 2020 at the age of 15. He was born on February 26, 2005 in Dallas, TX to Fernando Flores Sr. and Mary Ellen Kelsay. Junior moved from Dallas in 2017 and was going into his sophomore year at Durant High School. Fernando loved to play a lot of sports. He was on the track, soccer, football, and basketball teams. Junior was a member of the student ministry at Fusion Bible Church Durant. If Junior wasn’t playing sports, you could find him fishing, playing his playstation 4 or swimming at the pool or lake and spending time with family and friends. He always had a smile on his face and will be dearly missed. We love you Fernando. He is preceded in death by his grandparents Ruby and Kenneth Davidson and grandpa Eladio Flores. Survivors include his loving mother, Mary Kelsay of the home; father, Fernando Flores of Arkansas; sister, Valeria Flores of Durant ; brother, Jacob Kelsay of Durant; cousins, Charles and Tiffany Kelsay, Byron Escobedo, Genesis Cortes, and Adrian Cortes; uncles and aunts Victor and Lili Escobedo, James Kelsay, Arturo and Mari Gamiz along with many other extended family members and dear friends. Services for Junior will be held 1:00 PM Friday, May 29, 2020 at Calvary Baptist Church in Durant with Pastor Darel Bunch officiating. Cremation to follow. The Durant High School Soccer Team will serve as honorary pallbearers. The family will accept friends Thursday evening May 28, 2020 from 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM at the funeral home.
