Teen Killed By SUV In Long Beach, Man Arrested For Alleged DUI
A 33-year-old Lakewood man was arrested on suspicion of DUI and gross vehicular manslaughter after striking and killing a 16-year-old.
LONG BEACH, CA — A 33-year-old Lakewood man was arrested on suspicion of DUI and gross vehicular manslaughter after a 2001 Chevrolet Tracker he was driving struck and killed a 16-year-old boy crossing the street in a marked crosswalk in Long Beach, authorities said Sunday.
The mid-sized SUV was going southbound on Los Coyotes Diagonal at the intersection of Deborah Street when it struck the teenager at about 9:10 p.m. Saturday, the Long Beach Police Department reported.
Paramedics arriving at the location pronounced the Long Beach resident dead at the scene.

Kevin Chris Dahl was arrested on suspicion of gross vehicular manslaughter and DUI. His bail was set at $100,000, police said. Dahl was later released on bond at 7:12 a.m. Sunday, according to Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department inmate records.
